We focus on helping individuals aim for self-reliance and long-term health by tailoring our treatment to each person's needs.

Skyline Mental Health Services is approved by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) to offer intensive residential treatment services (IRTS) under Rule 36. This program provides combined mental health, medical care, and support for substance use issues in a place where patients stay, get watched over, and receive care 24/7 for up to 90 days. It’s a step down from being in the hospital but still gives a high level of help in our local care system. It’s for people 18 and older who need a lot of support and treatment.

To be admitted to the IRTS program, a person must show they have met these three areas of daily life as seen in an assessment, need around-the-clock care to get better, and might also have a history of being in the hospital multiple times in a year, not have a stable place to live, be homeless, or have tried outpatient mental health services without much success.

Our program follows a trauma-informed care approach by creating a safe and inclusive environment for the individuals served.

The goal of IRTS is to improve mental stability, emotional well-being, self-care, and living skills for people who often face both mental health and substance use challenges. After meeting the criteria to leave IRTS, clients can be referred to other services we offer, like supportive living or outpatient care, to continue their recovery path.

The cost of these services can be billed to Medical Assistance, and we accept many other sources of funding. For more information, please contact us.

Skyline Mental Health Services utilizes a team approach consisting of a Psychiatric provider, nurses, mental health professionals, and practitioners. Skyline Mental Health Services is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
